Mission of the Good Samaritan Food Network

The Network was formed in 1979 through the efforts of various social agencies and the Ross County Ministerial Association.  It provides centralized and coordinated food distribution to individuals and families in emergency situations.
The pantry is completely staffed by volunteers.  A board composed of area church members and representatives from other social agencies provides oversight.  Assistance is provided to over 300 families each month.

To Receive Assistance

Clients must be referred by either a member church, health care or social service agency.  These include the Salvation Army, the Assistance House, the Ross County Health Department and the Ross County Department of Job and Family Services.  Only residents of Ross County are eligible to receive assistance.

Assistance Provided

Clients receive enough wholesome food to feed their families three meals a day for five days.  Clients are eligible to receive this food assistance once every 30 days‚Äč.

Other Programs

Each Thanksgiving, the Network provides special food baskets, with everything necessary for a Thanksgiving feast, to qualifying families.
Baby formula is available for qualifying children.
